Virtual Ballet Folklorico Lessons
Learning a new dance is fun and easy with this virtual program focused on traditional Mexican dancing.
This course consists of thirty 30-minute videos that contain a series of stretches, warm up exercises, and step-by-step instructions for two dances, Chiapanecas and El Járabe Tapatío. This series of lessons is designed for beginning dancers of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Anyone with a desire to learn ballet folklorico can use this virtual course to build their skills.

Day 2: Technique & basic steps.
Day 3: Technique with arms & review basic steps.

Day 5: Spotting & turns, continue learning Chiapanecas.
Day 6: Posture & body form review, technique, continue learning Chiapanecas.
Day 7: Talk about confidence, review technique, continue learning Chiapanecas.
Day 8: Technique, continue learning Chiapanecas.
Day 9: Technique, continue learning Chiapanecas.
Day 10: Technique with arms, begin learning arm movements for Chiapanequas.
Day 11: Spotting and turns, continue learning arm movements for Chiapanecas.
Day 12: Spotting and turns, continue learning arm movements for Chiapanecas.
Day 13: Technique with arms, continue learning arm movements for Chiapanecas.
Day 14: Arm movements for next 2 sections of Chiapanecas.
Day 15: Finish learning Chiapanecas, perform dance together.

Matisse Rainbolt has been a Folklorico dancer for 17 years and has been teaching people of all ages traditional Mexican Dancing for over 7 years through dance groups, private lessons, school programs, and now is expanding her reach by providing virtual lessons!
